You will get to work in our new arts facility and help to create a memorable summer for our campers of all ages. Your job would entail furthering the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of arts and crafts activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Roadmonkey combines kickass adventures in nature with hands-on, short-term volunteer projects to create what we call adventure-philanthropy expeditions worldwide. Educational Value:
This job provides an extremely wide range of hands-on experience for the digital graphic designer / illustrator and web designer. This position will also draw on one’s communication and customer service skills when interacting with clients and team members.
Job Description:
The person in this position is shared between a multimedia designer and our web applications team. The graphic work will consist of assisting in the preparation of drawings and/or designs using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Will also assist in preparing files and printing to a large format printer. The web design work will consist of updating and creating pages within the School of Dentistry site
. Some video editing using Final Cut Pro X and other video design work using Motion or After Effects will be added later. Hours/days are fairly flexible within the 8-5 workday/week. No evenings or weekends. 10-15hrs /wk.
Desired Qualifications:
Creativity, excellent communication & customer service skills, ability to work independently, solid working knowledge of Mac OSX, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Basic knowledge of web design. Video post-production experience (Final Cut Pro X/ Motion) is a plus. Portfolio review during the interview.
Pay is $9.00-$12.00/hr
The position is for 11 months beginning in June/July 2013 and running through Aprl 2014
